About the CHEITA Group

The Coalition of Higher Education Information Technology Associations (CHEITA) comprises representatives from associations throughout the world that promote the use of information technology in higher education. CHEITA was established in 2011 to share best practice across member associations and, by extension, the individual institutions that make up those associations. It is clear that higher education is now a global business; although individual institutions may be in competition with each other, the operation of IT services within institutions is rarely a differentiator. Consequently, sharing best practices at both an association and individual-institution level to develop more effective and efficient IT services offers real benefits.

President

Peter Tinson is Executive Director of UCISA, the professional body for Higher Education IT departments and staff in the UK.

As Executive Director Peter is regularly invited to join advisory boards and steering groups in the UK to give the sector viewpoint on particular issues. These perspectives are informed by the UCISA membership, including surveys, case studies and reports. UCISA carries out a number of surveys, allowing its members to benchmark themselves against their peers, now using the Complexity Index to identify comparator institutions.
